When the person, event and registry are known, the engagement can focus on obtaining a specific document. If those details are missing, a search must be assessed first.

People who need a birth, marriage or death certificate, an archival copy or an identified church document
for a specific purpose.
What does the service include?
Checking the details needed to locate the record, the type of document and eligibility to request it; submitting the request and recording the response. Apostilles, legalisation, translation or shipping are included only if agreed and may be handled by qualified providers.
Procedure and application stages
Initial information
Name, registered event, date and municipality.
Parentage and volume, page or entry details, if known.
Intended use, destination country and format required by the recipient.
Relationship to the person concerned and availability of authorisation where required.
What will you receive? The document issued or the authority’s response, together with a record of the steps taken and any issues encountered. Any additional search or action to remedy deficiencies must be agreed separately.

Processing times and access depend on the authority. A certificate of no registration, the absence of an entry and a search with no findings are not equivalent conclusions.
